Vardon was a farmer from a small village in the country of Corahn. He was seemingly chosen at random by Kazar Naimon to deliver a secret message to the country of Koridan, asking for aid in the war against the Filaldori. Vardon was intercepted before leaving Corahn by Kazar Brenn, who offered to take the message himself. Vardon then returned to his farm, to live out the rest of his days.
